Saudade is the most difficult portuguese word to explain. Saudade could have two signification the blues or nostalgy that you can feel when you're far away from your country...or when you have the nostalgy of the old good time... This could be the closest explanation but as they say overthere you can try to describe it or to give it a sens but this is just approximative, You can't explain it, you just can live it...And that's just what i feel when i heard the word Alentejo...
On parle de saudade dans deux cas, d'abord pour quelqu’un qui est éloigné de son pays, et qui garde l'espoir de revenir un jour ; le terme est également employé par les Portugais pour évoquer la nostalgie du passé.
La saudade est un mot considéré comme intraduisible. On essaie de l’expliquer et de lui donner un sens, mais on n’obtient qu’une idée approximative de ce mot. La saudade ne s’explique pas, elle se vit. Et c'est ce que je ressens à chaque fois que j'entend le mot Alentejo...

Alentejo is located in Portugal, it's the biggest part of it and also the one with the smallest density of population... In this place the time doesn't matter, there you just go with the flow... You can describe it in 2 piece the shoreline alentejo and the inland... Both are beautifull and need to be seen once.....
L'alentejo est la région la plus importante du Portugal en terme de superficie mais aussi la moins dense en population... Le temps n' a pas d'importance la bas, il suffit juste de se laisser aller... On peut scinder l'alentejo en deux, la côte et l'intérieur... Les deux sont magnifiques et doivent être vue au moins une fois...
Inland the vegetation is made of cork tree, vineyard and the so terrible eucalyptus which are drying the ground...The relief is composed of hill and old mountain, with few very beautiful middle age city built on top of hill...
A l'intérieur des terres la végéttion est composé en grande partie de chênes lièges, de vignes et des désastreux eucalyptus (importé d'australie) qui assèche considérablement les terrains...Les reliefs sont composés de collines et d'anciennes montagnes, avec de nombreuses cité médiéval perchés dessus.
When you arrived in Alentejo you can smell it, because of the mix of the eucalypt tree (which were imported) and the local vegetation that give to alentejo it's own smell... You see also with the road which are totally fuck up...
Quand vous arrivez en Alentejo vous pouvez le sentir, ceci est du au mélange d'odeurs des Eucalyptus et des plantes locales qui donnent à cette région sa propre odeur... Vous pouvez aussi le voir en constatant l'état des routes...
The shoreline of Alentejo is almost entirely protected by a natural park, the park begin from Sines and end in the south of the Algarve coast.... From Sines to Odeceixe you have plenty of small typical fishermen harbour, hide between huge cliff....
La côte alentejana est quasiment entièrement situé dans un parc naturel,qui commence à Sines et se termine en Algarve. Depuis Sines à Odeceixe, la côte est constellée de petit port de pêche typique caché entre les falaises de schistes....
